Erika Dietrick, biology B.S. and Hispanic studies works with Cooley's meadowrue, (Thalictrum cooleyi Ahles) in the ECU greenhouse. The handout images show seeds of the Cooley's meadowrue. The purpose of the images was to view the embryos of the seeds and to measure elongation. The black and white image was taken with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the color image with a steroscope. The seed is germinating in the color photo.
